Life Story Work & Training Impact

Our Life story work with the children and young people will support the process of the children whose lives have been fractured, disjointed, troubled and devastated by their adverse traumatic experiences, to start to rebuild their life-story, one piece at a time. Our therapeutic process will facilitate children make sense of what happened to them and why, in a constructive light – without self-blame, confusion, guilt and shame. We will ensure that children who has been touched and injured by trauma develops a positive sense of identity, purpose and belonging, and thereby begin the journey of healing and recovery.

Our training package for the carers in the children's homes and other professionals are aimed to empower these most important and most proximal adults in the children's lives with the crucial knowledge and skills to response to these children's needs in the most therapeutic way. Our training and consultation packages will help carers and professionals keep the children and young people's placements stable, eventually reinforcing their feelings of safety, positive self-belief, trust in relationships, and regaining faith in and stop fighting the whole world to minimise their sense of loss of control. This, again, will have direct positive impact on the children's long term mental health and personal, social, academic, vocational functioning outcome as well as their path to recovery and healing from the trauma they endured in the past.
